Parents are welcome to arrange visits to the pre-school with their child for one or more sessions, to meet the staff and to get a general idea of how things operate. This is also a good opportunity to see if Little Acorns is right for you and your child.

SNACK INFORMATION

Snack time is organised into our day both morning and afternoon. Within the room the children have a 50 minute rolling snack period where they are able to help themselves to snack when they are ready, this time enables the children to try healthy snacks and new tastes.

At snack time a drink of milk or water is offered. Water is also always available throughout the day. The children have a carbohydrate based option which may consist of bread, wraps, crackers, cereal or rice cakes. There will also be fruit or vegetables such as apples, mango, pear, carrots and cucumber. Options always vary.

Both the morning and afternoon snack menu are always displayed above the coat hooks for your information at pick up time.

FUNDRAISING

Little Acorns Pre-School has charitable status and we have various fundraising initiatives to get involved in...

We’ve registered with easyfundraising and we need your help!

Easyfundraising is a great website where you can help Little Acorns Pre-school - Leigh-On-Sea raise funds simply by doing your everyday online shopping with over 3,300 big name retailers like Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, and M&S.

Every time you shop, we receive a small donation to say ‘thank you’ and it’s completely free too! We want to raise as much as possible so please sign up and help us at www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/littleacornsleigh

Help raise funds every time you order your Stinking name labels.
They stick to ANYTHING (plastic, leather, material, fabric lunch bags) are washable and really last a long time.

It's only £6.50 for 30 labels and a lot cheaper if you order more in readiness for School. They stick to ANYTHING (plastic, leather, material, fabric lunch bags) are washable and really last a long time.

Co-op Fundraising
Our local Co-op supermarket offers us a commission on all purchases made with a Loyalty Card connected with Little Acorns. You can collect a Loyalty card from Pre-school and then if you use this every time you shop at the Co-op, we are given some commission.

Gift Aid
We are able to claim Gift Aid on all donations made to Little Acorns Preschool. If you’re a UK tax payer, Gift Aid increases the value of your donations by 25%, as we reclaim the tax back from the Government. This means we can claim back 25p for every £1 made through all donations for snack, arts & crafts and forest school that you have kindly given us over the past year and where possible over the past four years, at no extra cost to you!
For us to be able to claim Gift Aid we do need a declaration from the person who made or is making the donation to allow us to ask for the tax back. It requires the person making the declaration to be a UK taxpayer and have paid more in income tax/capital gains tax in the financial year than we claim in donations made.
So, if you are able to help us, please can you fill in your details on the Gift Aid form (available from Preschool) and email it back to our Treasurer as soon as possible: littleacornstreasurer@gmail.com

Other Fundraising Initiatives include:
Bunny Bounce
Each year, we run a sponsored “Bunny Bounce” fundraiser. We ask our community to sponsor our children in a fun and healthy activity based around how many bounces they can reach on the trampoline. It’s a lot of fun and a terrific fundraiser that we ask you to support.

Waitrose Green Token Collection
From time to time, we put our name down at Waitrose to be part of their green token collection initiative. We will let you know through our newsletter and Facebook page when this is happening and greatly appreciate your support.

Tesco Bags of Help
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community projects.

Christmas Cards
Every Christmas, we run an activity to help the children design a Christmas card. We send off the design to a company that can make cards, tea towels and other gifts available which are then available for purchase. Little Acorns receives a very generous commission for every purchase made.

Christmas Party Raffle
We ask for donations for our Christmas raffle each year. If you are able to donate a prize we would be extremely grateful. The raffle is a popular and well supported part of the Christmas party.

Preschool Photos
We arrange a photographer to visit Pre-school in the Autumn term and then again at the end of the school year. Any photographs purchased pay a generous commission to our Pre-school to help with fundraising.

Cash4Clothes Bag 2 school
Each year, we run a cash for clothes fundraiser and ask for donations. It’s a great opportunity to have a clear out and we ask you to bring black bags of any good quality Coats, Clothes, Shoes or Belts that you don't need any more. Little Acorns will be paid for the weight of the items donated, so we always suggest looking for old shoes and coats, as these are nice and heavy. We will notify you closer to the time and explain arrangements for dropping off items.

We would be interested to hear from you if you have any other suggestions for fundraising
